2s and Young 3s Teachers

Michelle – Lead Teacher

Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in child and adolescent development from San Jose State University and continues to take early childhood education classes at Mission College and De Anza College and continues to attend conferences and workshops. She has her Site Supervisor Permit from the State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. She started working with children in 1996 and joined the staff at Children’s Corner in 2007. Michelle currently works full time in our 2s and Young 3s program.

Josette – Assistant Teacher

Josette has her bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Catholic University in Belgium. She speaks five languages (Dutch, English, French, German and Spanish) which is very helpful in transitioning young non-English speakers into our program.  Josette has been teaching since 1985, joining Children’s Corner in 2003 after working as a parent volunteer for several years. Josette works Monday through Friday mornings and afternoons in our 2s and Young 3s program.

Riitta – Assistant Teacher

Riitta has a master’s degree in education and an elementary teacher’s credential from the University of Turku in Finland.  She is working on her early childhood units from DeAnza College.  Riitta joined Children’s Corner in February, 2015 and works in our 2s and Young 3s classroom.
