Gini – Executive Director
Gini joined Children’s Corner in 1979 as a part time office manager and teacher and became the Executive Director in 1988. She received her bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Montana and her master’s degree from California State University, San Diego. After working as a county social worker doing child protective services, foster care placement and supervision, and having her first son, Gini went back to school to take the classes needed to get her Child Development Site Supervisor Permit from the State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. She continues to take classes and attend early childhood education conferences. She currently enjoys attending international conferences and visiting preschool wherever she travels. According to Gini, she continues to remain at Children’s Corner because she loves and supports the program’s philosophy, and respects and appreciates the experienced and dedicated teaching staff. “I love our indoor/outdoor program where children enjoy uninterrupted blocks of time to choose, explore and work on activities of their own choosing, and where teachers support and enhance this individualized learning by asking open-ended questions and guiding children.” Gini also volunteers for two non-profit organizations and is on the Board of Directors for the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce.
