The Fabulous Fours and Young Fives Program
The 4-5 year-old program has 20 to 24 children four teachers.
One of the key differences between Children's Corner and other preschools is flexible scheduling. Contracts for our 4-5 year old program are available for M,W,F or Tu & Th morning or afternoon blocks.
Blocks are 8:30-12:30, 12:30-3:30, 12:30-5:30 and 3:30-5:30.
Currently, the M-Th afternoon blocks from 12:30-3:30 are our very popular Spanish program where children are taught the basics of the Spanish language through our play-based learning environment. The maximum is three full days per week, 5 days 8:30-3:30, or the equivalent in part days.
During the school year we will cover many topics and work with each child on developing a variety of skills. Instead of a fixed time, theme–based approach, our curriculum themes will develop based on the interests of the children and events in the classroom and their daily lives. Within this framework we will cover the traditional topics ranging from changing seasons to community helpers. Having a flexible approach allows us to respond quickly to interests and events which reinforces to the children that we are all important members of the classroom community whose ideas are valued and respected. Children will also be introduced to the animal–based phonics program called Zoo–Phonics.
